Blinds collect dust on every slat, and in North Atlanta, pollen too. A quick dusting keeps them up. A slat-by-slat wipe is what makes them look new. Plantation shutters get the same care.

How we clean blinds

  • On every regular visit, the crew dusts the blinds.
  • On deep cleans and move cleans, blinds are wiped slat by slat.
  • On a regular visit, you can ask for a detailed blind wipe as an add-on.

How to clean blinds yourself

  1. Close the blinds flat, so the slats make one surface.
  2. Dust top to bottom with a dry microfiber cloth or the vacuum's brush.
  3. Flip the slats the other way and dust the back.
  4. Wipe slat by slat with a cloth barely damp with warm, soapy water. Wood blinds need very little water, so wring the cloth hard.
  5. Wipe the cords and the top rail, then open the blinds to dry.

Plantation shutters

Shutters are wiped louver by louver, the same way. On deep cleans our crews hand wipe and spot clean them. Work top to bottom, and dry them as you go, especially if they are painted wood.

Spring is the season blinds and shutters need it most. See the spring cleaning checklist.
